NANSA Knockout Cup Final


The NANSA Knockout Cup Final was hosted by Erpingham Bowls Club. Finalists were Overstrand and Buxton whilst it was a well fought match Buxton were the better team on the day and won 51 shots to 34  


A big thanks go to Erpingham BC for for hosting the match and providing a lovely selection of refreshments. Also a big hand to our supports for coming along and finally to the team for getting to the final.

NANSA Knockout Cup

The first leg away at Suffield Park resulted in a 7 shot deficit. With a spot in the final to play for it was a tense evening at home to Suffield Park but after all three rinks winning we ended the night with a shot advantage of 19. We are now through to the final on the 10th August and will face either Buxton or Cawston.    

3rd July 2025

NANSA Division 1

An away match to Cromer Marrams resulted in a win on two rinks and the overall shots. This was followed up by a win at home against Sheringham Panthers and our first 8 points. This win has put us on top of the league.

NANSA Division 1

An away match to Smallburgh & Dillham resulted in us coming away with 6 points after winning on two rinks and having the overall shot difference. We narrowly missed out on all eight points with the other rink losing by one shot in a dramatic last end. Our attention now turns to the first leg of the semi final match away to Suffield Park.     

13th June 2025

NANSA Division 1

It was a difficult away game to Sheringham Tigers in the extremely warm afternoon sun. Although the team had a good start the opposition proved too good on two of the rinks and we came away with two points. This a reversal of when they came to us at the start of the season.

NANSA Knockout Cup

The second leg was a home match against Cromer Marrams and we carried an 11 shot lead into the match. Although it was an exciting close fought game we finished the evening with a 49 – 49 shot draw and go through with the 11 shot lead we had from the first leg. In the semi final round we face Suffield Park in a home and away match.

NANSA Division 1

Todays home again against Aylsham ended in a well earned draw. One rink won the other two lost but we ended with a 53 / 50 shot advantage so came away with 4 points.

Norfolk County Federation League

This weeks away game to Cromer Crabs ended with zero points after all three rinks lost against very strong opposition.

NNAL 

There were two NNAL games this week the first being an away game at Happisburgh. Unfortunately we ended up two players short so had to play two rinks with two players. This was a difficult green and we ended up losing on two rinks and drawing the third giving us one point. The second game was a home game against Neatishead, This was a close fought game with a win, draw and a loss and losing the overall short difference by two shots meaning we came away with 3 points.

Norfolk County Federation League

An away match on a surprisingly warm evening to Cawston resulted in a win on one of the rinks giving us two points. This was a good result from stiff competition. Last season we lost all nine points home and away.

NANSA Knockout Cup

We finished the week with an Evening match away at Cromer Marrams in the NANSA Knockout Cup. Despite a rather cold blustery evening we managed to come away with an 11 shot advantage having won 60-49 across the 3 rinks.

NANSA Division 1

Another away match this time at West Runton resulted in a nixed bag of results and an overall loss. With one rink winning, another drawing and the final one losing.

NANSA Division 1

Having visited Holt Swifts on Wednesday and come away with 2 wins and a share of the overall points we then finished the week with a visit to  Sheringham Panthers and came away with a respectable draw.

On as rather cold evening our spirits were lifted by winning all 3 rinks and the overall points score.

NANSA Division 1

We got off to a winning start with two of the three teams over coming their opposition (Sheringham Tigers) to earn 6 points.

 

On Wednesday 7th May we are away to Holt Swifts followed by another away match with Sheringham Panthers.

Norfolk County Federation League

Our fist match of the season was away to Swanton Abbott. We experienced a rather pleasant warm sunning evening but unfortunately lost 2 of the 3 rinks and the overall points.

Following the recent spell of good weather it has been decided to open earlier this year.

The club will open for play on Sunday April 13th from 1:30pm for a 2pm start. (Reserve date is Monday 14th if wet!)


We will set up the green and clubhouse ready for play on Friday April 11th at 10am. (Reserve date is Saturday 12th if wet!) Please come along and help if you can. Many hands make light work!


Organised roll-ups will take place every Monday and Friday starting on Monday 14th April 2025. (Weather permitting)

The Bolton-Maggs trophy was won this year by Rod Goffin.

We were treated to a three way play-off between Rod, Jeff & Lee before Rod overcame the competition to be crowned this years champion.

Whilst playing our weekly roll ups we have been treated to some excellent bakes during the half time intervals. 

 

We have weekly roll ups on Mondays & Fridays from 1.30pm. These are open to members and non members so why not come along and play a friendly game of bowls and enjoy a slice of cake.

First Monday Roll-Up of 2024, the weather remained fine throughout the afternoon and was warm in the sun with only a light breeze. A good time was had by all players. 

Roll-Ups are every Monday and Friday from 1.30pm onwards (weather permitting). Newcomers are always welcome if you would like to come along and have a go.

Overstrand Bowls Club opening day will be on Sunday 21st April 2024 at 2.00pm (Weather Dependent)

This event is open to everybody including members and non-members 

 

The first roll up of the new season will be at 2.00pm on Monday 22nd April 2024 again this will be dependent on the weather. We would ask you to arrive around 1.30pm so we can allocate rinks ready for a prompt 2.00pm start.

   

 

2023 Season

Congratulations to everyone who represented the club in league matches this season. Most members played in our matches at some point during the season. We finished in a very respectable mid-table position in Division 1 of the County Federation Evening League. Even better we finished as winners of the North Norfolk Afternoon League for the 7th consecutive year. Well done everybody. Absolutely amazing! Let’s try and make it eight next season

Roll-Ups

Our afternoon roll-ups on Monday and Friday proved very popular and were well supported this year. They were competitive, but great fun. The club was pleased to welcome several new members and all were quick to fully participate in the running of the club. We look forward to welcoming more new members next season.
